who creates illusions--and perhaps beauty?"
~Hubert de Givenchy
I was given the most beautiful book for Christmas and I have been so excited to share it with you! The book is called Grand Traditions of French Couture: Cristobal Balenciaga, Philippe Venet, Hubert de Givenchy by Christiane de Nicolay-Mazery with photos by Luc Castel. We all know how much I love everything French and this book combines some of the most gorgeous photos of interiors, architecture, landscape, and exquisite couture fashion that I have ever seen! Every photo is lush and irresistibly elegant. The book contains historical facts, quotations from the designers and their muses, anectdotes, and so much more! It is so beautiful that it inspired me to take some photos of my own and I wanted to share them with you along with some of my favorite pages from the book. I hope you enjoy them and the little drawing I have included! This book reminds me what it means to be feminine and graceful - and to appreciate the grand history of those artists who venerated feminine beauty to such a spectacular extent.

ReplyDeleteSome very unique images in the book; however, your photo displays on the blog are as good, if not better. Interesting design ideas; love the lavender jewelry. And the hot pink bling. (Sometimes it's good to take a rest from my usual color faves.) Thanks for sharing.
