Meadow Street Roses

"Just living is not enough,...
one must have sunshine,
freedom and a little flower."
          ~Hans Christian Andersen

I have been working on this post for a little while now. So many people over the past year or so have asked me about the ribbon roses that are displayed in a great many of my photographs that I thought it was time to do another feature. When I first began this blog I did a post about the beautiful Meadow Street site and the incredible handmade ribbon flowers and accessories for sale there. My Mum and I have become quite addicted to them and together have amassed a stunning collection. These gorgeous flowers are sewn with beautiful %100 silk fabric and then hand-texturized! They are truly too beautiful for words! Available on the site there are the silk hand painted flowers, french hand-dyed flowers, velvet and burlap flowers, pansies, poinsettias, lace flowers, jewelry, gorgeous vintage style tussie mussies, and more! I have taken some pictures of my Mum's and my combined collection of roses (honestly they are ALL over the house! On lampshades, pillows, dresses, in cups and on trays - literally EVERYWHERE!). I hope you enjoy the pictures! We love Meadow Street so much!

  3. They look like something out of the Sofia Coppola film from a few years ago called "Marie Antoinette" where everything seems like a pastel (edible) confection. Beautiful!

  5. Hi Jennelise: I agree with you. These roses are exceptionally beautiful - subtle, yet so precious. About a month ago, I ordered 3 different styles and pinned one of them to a Victorian lace lampshade in my guest bedroom. Totally awesome! I plan on ordering more, yes indeed. By the way, I love the way you display the roses in picture no. 1 - the tiered candy/pastry dish. I have a silver server like that. Hmmmmmm. . . . . .

    1. Hi Sandi,
I'm afraid that she stopped making them and I'm not sure why. Her online shop closed and I never heard from her again. It's such a shame her flowers were the prettiest I've ever seen!
      Best,
      Jennelise
