A Feature and Vacation

"In matters of healing the body
or the mind, vacation is a true genius!"
                ~Mehmet Murat Ildan

Some exciting news to share with you today! I have been featured in the September issue of L'Esprit Deco magazine - a gorgeous French publication filled with beautiful home decor! You can purchase the issue HERE. Below are just a couple photos from the ten page article and the beautiful cover of the September issue. I am just thrilled to be a part of it!!

I am going on vacation for the next two weeks (My first real vacation in years!!) and will be taking a short break from my Etsy Shop while I am away. The shop will be back to normal on the 13th of September and I will be adding new items shortly thereafter so stay tuned!

Heritage Park

"Everything good, everything
magical happens between the
months of June and August."
                  ~Jenny Han

In the spirit of fitting every possible drop of fun into these last few days of summer I spent today with my family at Heritage Park! A historical village complete with antique trains and a ferry, cute shops, an amusement park, and so much more! I snapped a few pictures of the historical houses and some of the things that I saw while I was there. I loved the children picnicking on the lawn of one of the larger houses in their pinafores and caps. The little shops are so full of beautiful displays of authentic antiques as well - just my kind of place! I hope everyone is enjoying these last few days of August!

Summer Treasures

"The purpose of life is to live it,
to taste experience to the utmost,
to reach out eagerly and without
fear for newer and richer experience."
               ~Eleanor Roosevelt

If someone were to ask me, "What is your most favourite thing to do?" I am quite sure that I would answer, "Look at beautiful things!". It might be an inherited passion cultivated at the feet of my Mum whose love for old-world ambience and romantic atmosphere is so much a part of her sweet character. I worked in an antique store for seven years and I learned so much about beauty and history and how to appreciate the past. I love decorating and home and creating a space that is entirely yours surrounded by the little things that you love. Taking something old and re-fashioning it or giving it new life - pairing it with something new in your decor is also fascinating to me! There are so many new ways to incorporate vintage into your own style. This summer I have seen SO MANY beautiful things! I take little snapshots with my phone when I go somewhere lovely and I always think, "I will instagram this!", but then when I look later my phone is so full of pictures that honestly why not just do a full post to show you everything wonderful that I have seen? I have been to beautiful antique stores, interior decor stores and boutiques and these photos show a mix of old and new and utterly romantic! Perhaps they will give you some ideas about your own style...
