"It is Christmas in the heart
that puts Christmas in the air."
~W. T. Ellis
I am almost finished my Christmas shopping! I always start in November and think that I am way ahead of the game and then as Christmas approaches I keep remembering things that I have to do. I'm almost there though. A week or so ago I was in a beautiful little clothing boutique called Chateau Country Lace (such a pretty name!) and I loved the way they had decorated with all of these pretty vintage decorations and dressed up antique pieces. I had to snap a few pictures on my phone. I really feel like the Christmas displays this year have been exceptionally lovely!

Christmas Decorations
"For centuries men have kept
an appointment with Christmas.
Christmas means fellowship,
feasting, giving and receiving,
a time of good cheer, home."
~W. J. Ronald Tucker
There are so many beautiful Christmas decorations out there and I just love to see everyone's gorgeous photos of their homes! So many creative ideas! I love the beautiful framed Christmas trees made out of vintage brooches that I have seen on pinterest. Someday I am going to make one of these, but in the meantime I got all of my sparklies together and made my own tiny temporary version! I have also recently discovered how much I love the bright magenta coloured ornaments that you can find vintage or new in some special boutiques! I have bought a few small ones this year and last Christmas as well and until I have a real plan for them I keep them in a little dish on display for December. I see so many wonderful ideas out there - I wish I could do them all!

Countdown to Christmas
"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us
back to the delusions of our childish days;
that can recall to the old man the pleasures
of his youth; that can transport the sailor and
the traveller, thousands of miles away, back
to his own fire-side and his quiet home!"
~Charles Dickens
December is here and the countdown to Christmas is on! My lovely friend Erica at Meadowstreet sent a pretty advent calendar with a recent Christmas order and I have sat it in my room where I can count off the days. When I was a little girl those days couldn't pass quickly enough - but now I enjoy every single one and with so many things to do, gifts to buy, and get-togethers to prepare for I need every hour of every day to get ready! I have already said I love pastels at Christmas but that doesn't mean that I don't love the reds and golds as well! My sister loves colour at Christmas and so her things are very bright and cheery. I took a few random snapshots of some of her wrapping frippery and a couple more pictures of my home as well which I hope you will like. I just finished this Christmas Tree drawing for a wonderful customer and friend, Linda, and I thought I would share that as well. I hope everyone is enjoying the season!
