Easter

"Easter spells out beauty,
the rare beauty of new life"
         ~S. D. Gordon

Easter is fast approaching and I admit I can't believe April has come so quickly! I always think of Easter and Springtime as two things that absolutely go together, which is one of the reasons why it is so unfortunate that at the moment it is snowing fairly hard outside. Sadly, my visions of springtime are getting lost in the falling flakes. Oh well!! I will remain positive and hopeful that spring is just around the corner! In the meantime I found some beautiful Easter things on Etsy for you to enjoy! I love the little gnomes and all of the bunnies - when I was little I used to get a cuddly bunny toy every year at Easter. I loved them so much, and I still remember how I felt every year hunting for chocolate eggs and finding my bunny hiding behind a curtain or under the table. Happy early Easter!

  8. That was some sweet stuff! I love Easter. My tulips have forced and we have one, lone peachy/pink bud which I know will open by Sunday! My mom never colored eggs, but she did set up fun egg hunts for us all around the inside of the house in poor weather, or in the backyard when sun decided to shine. One year in school, our teacher taught us how to blow the yolk out of an egg, dry the shell, then color and decorate the egg. Great creative project for restless kids, calming us down to gently handle the fragile shells. I love the way your pot o' gold at the end of the Easter rainbow was your soft bunny (as if the chocolates weren't enough) but aren't our moms the best...at Christmas, well into my adulthood, mine would give me some kind of doll, even if it was a teeny one which could hang on the tree as part of the ornaments. I think our family traditions at holidays need to be kept alive, like things that can be counted on...sure things, in an otherwise fast-changing and often tumultuous world. (I hope your white world clears up by the weekend for you, Jennelise! Gosh, I can't imagine the snow; it was 71 degrees-F where I live today, in the West-USA where we're much further south. I was noticing how everyone's rose bushes are blooming early; they need to last til Mother's Day in May! Surely you'll be warm before you know it!)
