and interesting objects have a powerful
influence on our affections."
~Daniel Boone
Since I began taking an interest in photography I have started to look at objects around my home in terms of how they can be photographed together. I am constantly inspired by photos I see on blogs and pinterest. Oftentimes the prettiest pictures are the simplest! A single flower lying on a piece of music, a piece of lace, a dressy shirt hanging in a window, or the blurry outline of someone in the distance. I love pictures of random things sitting together - vignettes and collages. I think they are so quaint and interesting! I wanted to try taking some pictures this way with random pretty things sitting together. I hope you like them and the little "list" I created of a few of the things I like...

ReplyDeleteOh Jennelise these are wonderful! I especially loved the keys on the lace and the flowers and pearls on the hanger for some whimsical reason! Your list too is lovely, may I use it on my blog linking back to you? These are inspiring for me, they truly are and I sooooo needed this right now! blessings, Lady
ReplyDeleteCertainly - link backs are always welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures and my doodle :) Take care and have a wonderful week!

Thank you so much. I tried the list but the writing didn't show up so I used your flower hanger and linked it back here. Its so enchanting :D .... I'm inspired to see through the lens in a creative way now too....just not quite yet :D

And #11:
ReplyDeleteJennelise's pretty blog!!
With your good eye and apparently a good camera, we're treated with some lovely visuals; and I love your list! It reminds me of the film, "The Sound of Music" when Julie Andrews is singing about raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...sounds like you can relate to the part in the song about brown paper packages tied up with string, too!
ReplyDeleteEveryone of your vignettes are just beautiful. What an eye you have for design! And your list.....love it.
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are to die for. Everything is so fabulous. Even the Blackberry is perfect. Thanks for stopping by my dear.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of so many pretties!

I forgot to say that my fave on this post (besides the stylish and fun "list") is the pretty plate, centered on lace and "covered" with stand-at-attention roses. The whimsy in this, to my eye, is that of a delicate and ladylike fairy princess, sitting down to a nice tea, with the lacy "cloth" for her table and flowers to make pleasant the meal (instead of reaching for a fork, why not a rose?). Maybe I'm getting too 'abstract' but, a table set with roses as cutlery? Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteJennelise, your photographs are fun and very imaginative. I like the simplicity of the three keys on the pretty lace doily. The roses on the white hanger is beautiful. It is obvious that you love photography. I invite you to show your work at Your Cozy Home Party which is each Mon. night through Thurs. night. Details on my blog. Would love to have you!---------- Shannon
ReplyDeleteThankyou Shannon! I will have to pop by on monday! :) Take care!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
Love,

You're right, Jennelise, sometimes the prettiest pictures are the simplest. Me and my girls have been interested in Photography for many years. The most lovey picture on here, I think, is the one of the single pink rose. I am so glad you are taking an interest in Photography. It is a whole new world, and we get to take pictures of God's beautiful world.
