It has been a beautiful summer weekend! I picnicked on the porch with a friend, went for walks, bought flowers, and spent time with my family. I enjoy going for walks and admiring all of the beautiful gardens that my neighbours have cultivated. My Nana, who lives not too far from me, has beautiful billowing bushes of peonies and roses. Gorgeous! I was at the market the other day and saw these pretty bunches of pink and ivory peonies and lovely fat roses - I had to have some! I have just loved watching them bloom. Here are a few images I captured of my summer bouquets...

I love summer everything seems so possible in summer. Your mind opens up and breathes in air that seems lighter and softer and full of sunshine. I have so many ideas spilling over and searching for spare moments to soak into. Ambition and clarity that come out of nowhere - they've been hiding I think during the cloudy days waiting for me to remember they exist. At any rate I am enjoying the chance to think of new things and rediscover happy pastimes. I hope you are all doing the same!

Life has been so busy lately that I just haven't had time to do a proper post - the kind where I devote an entire afternoon to setting up and taking photographs. I miss it! So yesterday I MADE time so that I could take some pictures for you that I have been wanting to take for ages! I love ribbons, lace, trims, embroidery, fabric flowers, etc, etc (you probably already knew that!). I have amassed quite a collection now and have been so excited to share it with you. My Mum and I use some of these things to make the GILLYFLOWERS and others are being saved for that future special project. I dip into this supply and replace things all the time. Many of these trims come from France and Japan where some of the most beautiful ribbons I have found are made. My guilty pleasure now is to visit the little ribbon store in town and find something new for my collection. I have tried to display everything well and I hope that you enjoy this little perusal.
