the fields lay like a silver shield...
It was one of the days when the
glitter of winter shines..."
~Edith Wharton
My family and I went away for two days to do some Christmas shopping and other fun things. We got back this evening and are worn out from our exciting trip! We visited antique stores and came away with a few special treasures and then explored some garden centers that were floor to ceiling Christmas decor. It was so much fun and now we are all exhausted! My home is now pretty well ready for Christmas and I wanted to share the first of my Christmas photos! My Mum and I love mercury glass at Christmas time so this little display includes some from her collection along with a beautiful little silver tree and one of our Christmas treasures - an ethereal box that my Mother handmade. It is so exquisite and I love to see it every Christmas. I am sharing this post with My Shabby Streamside Studio's Vintage Video of Holiday Decor and I am also participating in Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and I love it!!!
It is all beautiful but the box is beyond beautiful. Exquisite!

This is so elegant. We are celebrating our 12th Anniversary--which is represented by linen, pearls, and peonies. Since our Anniversary is in December, we decorate each year in commemoration of our Anniversary. This is EXACTLY the inspiration we were looking for to create our decor this year (2012). Thank you for being so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe box is just beautiful. My daughter is 16 and doing a photo shoot in December called Winter Wonderland. This box would be a wonderful prop/accessory to use - I am going to try and recreate it but nothing I do will even come close. Thanks for the inspiration.
