"...my heart fills to the brim
with Autumn."
~Ono no Komachi
Today was a perfect Autumn day - the sun was shining and the leaves were golden. I take my little nine month old baby niece for a walk everyday now and today neither of us needed a jacket it was so lovely and warm. She cooed and chattered to me the whole way! Days like today remind me why I like Fall. I was so sad over the sudden departure of summer! I am just beginning to enjoy this new season. I like to sit with a cup of tea and relax with a book on a pretty autumn evening like this one. I took these pictures a few days ago with this happy pastime in mind...

no one but myself...""

I have met so many wonderful people through my blog and my etsy shop! It is so lovely to hear from people who share similar tastes to my own and who are hungry for that elegant old-fashioned atmosphere that I always crave. One of my customers recently shared some simply gorgeous snapshots of her home with me and I had to ask her if I could share them with you too. She has such an incredible collection of treasures (one or two which have come from me!) and you will see from these few pictures that her home absolutely embodies that stunning European romance. Thankyou Wedad for letting me share these pictures and for your kindness and support!

favourite season. The time
when everything bursts with
its last beauty, as if nature
had been saving up all year
for the grand finale."

What a chaotic weekend it was! Things in my house are changing rapidly and I am adjusting slowly. Life has a funny way of testing you to see just how strong you have or haven't become over the years and whether you can meet challenges with an attitude of abundance and positivity or not. I am learning to love everyday whether it brings exactly what I expect it to or not.
I have a few pretty pictures to share with you of a table that I found on a trip out of town this summer. It is French and very old. It has a beautiful chippy cream and gold finish and stands on tall curvy legs. I think it is incredibly romantic and looks like a table from a chateau in France. It is always so exciting to find something in this beautiful romantic old-fashioned style that I love...

Last week was a bit of a whirlwind for me - lots of changes, which I won't get into at the moment, but I'm sure I will be sharing more about (hint: I have made a lot of major decorating decisions). For today I just wanted to share some beautiful pictures that I took while on a trip out of town this summer. I have had them set aside for a blog post for a little while but just haven't got around to editing and posting them. There was this little shop I found called Tattered Rose (what a beautiful name don't you think!?) and everything was so lovely and romantic there it was like stepping inside a fairytale. The store is mostly clothing dripping in lace, ruffles, and beads, gorgeous jewelry, and a little bit of home decor. It took my breath away! My pictures don't do it justice. I have also added some treasures to the Etsy Shop - I know it has been a bit empty of late but I will hopefully be adding more in the next week or so...
