Flower Girl

"Every flower is a soul
blossoming in nature."
             ~Gerard de Nerval

The last week of summer - I have had so many ideas all summer long of photographs that I wanted to take. Summer themes and photoshoots that I never had the time to bring to life. When I realized on monday that this sunday is September first I decided that I had to try and do at least one of my ideas. I had been waiting for a friend to help me but instead I relied on my trusty tripod and took the pictures myself. I have seen so many beautiful photos lately of floral crowns. They are all over pinterest and etsy! Beautiful wreaths made out of flowers being worn by brides and models, hung from shelves, and standing in whimsical piles. I love them and I have wanted to make one and use it as a prop for awhile. I watched youtube videos trying to learn how the fairytale decorations were made and eventually sat down and tried to make one. I have used it in my photoshoot - the last photoshoot of summer and I hope you all enjoy the finished result.

I have also added two new special items to the Etsy Shop. A beautiful fabric and lace box and an embellished lampshade. Have a peek!

  4. oh Jennelise, you are such a darling! so very very pretty and you did such a lovely job on the wreath. Thanks for this post, I am inspired again and want to try to make these again. I used to make them many moons ago and wear them at Renaissance Faires, but with real flowers. They began to make ones using fake and I became disenchanted, but seeing all the ones that are fake yet so beautiful anyway, I may get over it, lolol......so very beautiful. I especially love the pics of you peeking out from the bushes. You really are a very special little Princess.

    1. Thankyou so much for your comments! I always love to hear from you! The flowers are not real - they were buds and blossoms I have had for years and were sitting in drawers and cupboards waiting for me to use them. I buy the majority of my silk flowers from a large interior decor stop here in town called Chintz. I'm afraid I don't know what the company the flowers come from is called. As I said these particular ones are quite a few years old. Thankyou for always making me feel so special! Your support means a lot!

    1. Thankyou! Unfortunately where I live September 1st signals a drop in temperature and the immediate changing colours of all the trees. I hope we have a pleasant september though! Who knows maybe I will be able to get at least one more summery photoshoot done before we're truly into fall! Have a marvellous weekend!
