   Happy Valentine's Day!! I'm sure that whether you have a sweetheart or not you will find someone special in your life to say "I love you" to today. I love Valentine's Day for many reasons not the least of which is that everyone who loves me takes the time to say so in the sweetest ways! Couple that with the effusion of pink, pretty chocolates, and bouquets of roses and it is definitely a holiday worth celebrating. I hope you all have a lovely day!    I recently came home from a short weekend trip that I took to hunt down more treasures for the Etsy Shop. Sometimes I have to go further afield to find pretty odds and baubles that I think everyone will like. I'm not complaining though! I love the search. I am addicted to the discovery of beautiful old things. I will be listing small batches of pretties for the next little while so keep your eyes open for them! A Parcel of Gillyflowers

    I completed a large order of Gillyflowers this weekend for a beautiful shop here in town. They took me a few weeks to finish and when I had them all sat together they looked so pretty I had to take some pictures! I was asked to do a collection of pastel spring colours and I searched high and low for beautiful lace and materials. I delivered my parcel of Gillyflowers today and hopefully will be able to start making more for my Etsy shop now. I would love to know what your favourite colours of the bunch are! I, of course, love the pink. :)

    The snow is falling outside, my arms are full of lace, and my camera is dangling round my neck. Today is a stay-at-home day and I have been busy photographing and listing new things in the shop. January is a slow month - everyone is clearing out the Christmas and slowly Valentines decorations are creeping up here and there. I always start to get excited towards the end of the month longing to see what the advent of the Spring season will bring. Will florals be popular this year (I always hope so!), pastels, and fashion with a little flounce. Will the window displays be dripping with flowers and foliage to counterbalance the cold outside? Our cold can last till May so I always love to pretend a little. Whatever the trends I am looking forward to this new year! January can be a blue month. Christmas is over, all of the decorations have come down, and the new year is stretching ahead full of the unknown. I always feel a little let down in January because Christmas is such an exciting time and is over so quickly! It is easy to be blue. --Not this year though. This year on January 6th my little sister had her first baby girl and everything has been a wonderful jumble of new experiences and joy! This year January is a glowing pink! I hope that is a sign that 2014 will be full of surprises. Here are some new treasures in the etsy shop and some pink pictures to brighten your winter days...
