Polka Dots & Pretty Things

"The new year stands before us,
like a chapter in a book, waiting
to be written."
         ~Melody Beattie

We had a sunny Christmas and a white New Years here. Outside it is freezing and the snow is coming down in thick clouds. I was sick with the flu for New Year's Eve and went to bed early so there really wasn't any celebrating and it doesn't feel real to me yet that it is January and the start of 2015. I'm sure it will hit me next week. :) I haven't really made any goals or resolutions yet - except that I have told myself I am going to draw more and blog more and generally do more of the things that make me feel the most like me.
I took these few pictures today of Christmas gifts that I received. I am obsessed with Kate Spade, Victoria's Secret, pearls, polka dots, pink and gold - and it seems that everyone this year knew that! I received some beautiful stationery, cosmetic bags and makeup, and other girly- lovely things. When I sat them all together I thought they looked really pretty and out came my camera!
I hope this is a new and exciting year for everyone! Welcome 2015!

    1. Hi Marie! I will have to ask my sister I think she special ordered it from Korea with the little makeup bag, powder puff blush, and bow manicure scissors. She loves the ultra feminine companies from Japan and Korea. The Face Shop just opened last year in my city. It is a beautiful cosmetics shop that specializes in Korean skincare and cosmetics. They sell similar products! Happy New Year to you as well!

    1. Hello! Lovely to hear from you as always! The compact is from a line which I only recently discovered called Paul & joe. It is just lovely and the packaging is beautiful! The mirror was a present from my Mum :) Take care!

  4. Where is the gold pen with rhinestone topper from? My best friend is getting married and would LOVE to have one to write in guest books and such!

    1. Hi Sophie!
I bought the pen at Indigo/Chapters! They also had one in gold with a large pearl top instead of a rhinestone. You can probably order them on indigo.chapters.ca too! I love them!
